PICTURE PERFECT VILLAGE ON THE EDGE OF THE PEAK DISTRICT
Welcome Home
Bradfield has the distinction of being the largest parish in England, and stretches over into the upper Derwent valley. Bradfield actually consists of two villages.
Firstly, High Bradfield, this is up on the hill, clustered around the medieval Church of St Nicholas and the site of the old Norman castle, which overlooks stunning views of Low Bradfield. It is an extremely attractive place with several notable ancient buildings, numerous cottages made of local gritstone, together with the Old Horns Inn pub and nearby nationally renowned Bradfield Brewery.

Low Bradfield, where The Filterworks is located, continues its tradition as a farming community into the present day.One of the great attractions to visitors from outside the village is the large centrally located recreation ground known as the Ibbotson Memorial Field. This is a popular site for picnics and family visits and also serves as the village cricket ground, drawing large crowds to games on summer weekends.

There is just one public house in the village; The Plough Inn, as well as our local cafe and gift shop; The Schoolrooms, and a Post Office and small village store also serving light snacks and refreshments.

The historic village of Low Bradfield is a truly desirable location to live, with bustling Sheffield a short drive or bus ride away, with all its shopping, pubs, restaurants, cafes, hairdressers, beauticians and banks. Ecclesall Road, home to popular eateries and shops, is only 20 minutes drive away, whilst Kelham Island, with its on trend café and pub culture is only 15 minutes drive. Extensive retail therapy and entertainment can be found at Meadowhall, 25 minutes by car.
